Adult ClassesALL OF OUR CLASSES ARE SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS OR THOSE WITH SOME EXPERIENCE.
-------------------------------- Beginner's Throwing Class (1st Saturday of the Month) 7th November (full) 5th December (full) 2nd Jan 10.30am- Midday (usually!) Spend a focused hour and a half on the potter's wheel. You will be given a demo and then have the chance to make pots on your own wheel. Small groups of maximum 6 people so all will get lots of individual attention. The price includes the glazing and firing of two of your pots. if you want to keep any additional pots they will be charged at £5 per pot. £25 (all materials, firing, glazing included) This class is designed as a more affordable option for individual throwers who are beginners. If you are a group, look at the private throwing classes. Throw and Turn!
2 session course in which you will learn to develop your skills on the potter's wheel from throwing pots in the first week to turning your pots in the second week to create more finished items. Suitable for beginners and for those who have tried throwing before. 10.30am -12pm - £45 (all materials, firing, glazing) 14th/21th November (full) 12th/19th December 9th/16th January Mug Projects
An introduction to throwing and turning on the potter's wheel. By the end of the 3 weeks you will have made a set of mugs or similar which will be glazed for you. Class size of 6 max means lots of individual attention. 11am - 4pm (with a 1 hour lunch break) Saturday 28th November 11-4 (full) Join us for a fun-filled day of all things clay. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, you will be introduced to many techniques including pinching, coiling, slabbing and throwing. You will have time to experiment and decorate your pots. £60 (all materials, firing, glazing, tea and biscuits included) Lunch not included but we have many lovely cafes on our doorstep! Beginner’s Classes (Usually 3rd Saturday of each month)
A relaxing, creative and sociable way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Have a go on the wheel and hand build a piece. We will glaze and fire your work for you to pick up at a later date. £35 per session Saturday 3rd October 1pm - 3pm Saturday 17th October 1pm-3pm Saturday 21st November 1pm -3pm Weekly Classes (waiting list is at least 2 years!)
Introduction to pottery techniques, including, pinching, coiling, slab building and throwing. Tuesday 1-3pm and 6.30-8.30pm Wednesday 10-12pm and 1-3pm Wednesday 6-8pm Thursday 1-3pm and 6-8pm Friday 1-3pm £100 for 6 weeks, classes ongoing (we ask for a small donation for firing each pot you make) We have a waiting list system where we contact you when spaces become available - email us with a mobile contact number to go on the list. These classes are very popular so be patient as the waiting list is significant. |
Kid's/Family ClassesAfter School Classes (aged 7+)
Children will taught how to make and decorate unique pieces, using a range of pottery techniques. The tutor Katy has many years experience teaching pottery to children. Thursdays 4.30-5.30pm (FULL with waiting list) £50 for 6 weeks (all firing included) Or £10 per session try out/PAYG Kids/Family Classes
We can arrange private children's or family classes for you. We will teach simple hand-building techniques and each child will get a quick go on the potter's wheel (adults too if there is time!) 3 or more people required for a workshop including at least 1 child. £15 per person for a 75 minute workshop (all firing included) We fit these classes around our regular classes, let us know when is good for you. (We get very busy, especially on Saturdays so book in with as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment) Throw a Pot (Children only)

Private ClassesPrivate Throwing Classes

As a not for profit, community pottery, our fees are kept as affordable as possible but we need to maintain full attendance in all classes to allow this to continue. Therefore, classes and workshops must be paid in full at the time of booking/confirmation and rearrangement of your class date may only be possible with at least 2 weeks notice. Please ensure you can attend the class before you book in with us, as refunds cannot be made. If you have booked a private throwing class or family workshop rearrangement of your class will be considered with less notice .
